About me

Hi there! My name is Emiliya and I'm a Functional Health Coach and a Personal Trainer with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise Science.

I'm deeply passionate about helping people achieve their long term health, fitness, and lifestyle goals.

I'm thrilled for the opportunity to work with you, support you, share my knowledge and passion for health and wellbeing with you!

My story

When it comes to our health and wellbeing, most of us share similar basic elements of what we think, how we feel, and what we do. We're united with similar goals and aspirations in our journeys to good health, but we all take different paths to get there. Those different paths lead to different experiences, teaching us different learnings. Those learnings are invaluable and should be shared with one another so that we can all learn together because ultimately, we're aiming to achieve similar goals! So here's my little bit of contribution to our collective learning experience!~~

Reflecting on my own journey through an unhealthy and confused relationship with food and exercise, it often felt like being in a roundabout with no exits. I was cycling through stages of dieting, obsessively working out, feeling intense cravings, giving in to binging, quitting, then starting the cycle over, and over, again, and again.

Although I generally understood what a healthy lifestyle consisted of and knew where to find credible information, it was simply too easy to give into the "fast", "quick", and "easy" gimmicks to reaching my goals. I was getting my information from the unhelpful fitness culture on social media with its' fad diets, unrealistic immediate results, controversial strategies, and misinformation. All I wanted, was to do good for myself, but I was doing just the opposite, messing with my metabolism, emotions, and psychology.

I was making my life so much more difficult and complicated than it needed to be.

I didn't feel well and wasn't myself in my body or mind, which signaled to me that it was time to make some big changes. So I started studying exercise science and nutrition, becoming totally engulfed in learning about health and wellbeing. Once I understood the basics of how to balance nutrition, exercise, hydration, stress, and sleep, life became simpler, I felt better, reached my goals, and finally felt more like myself again. I became committed to learning how to nourish my body, how to exercise in a healthy way, how to listen to my body, and how to improve my mindset.

Though it took time, I have learned an important lesson...

Health doesn't need to be confusing or difficult. Health can be attained through simplicity, consistency, and responsibility. Simple actions and small changes every day add up to big changes over time, and this is KEY when it comes to health!

Through this journey of working on owning my own health and wellbeing, I committed myself to helping others clear up confusion of how to live healthily, make progress, and achieve health goals!

Here's some contribution to the collective learning experience from others:

"Learn to simplify challenging tasks into smaller steps. I'm someone who can get easily overwhelmed when doing something new, like starting a new diet plan or a new exercise routine. I know what I want to accomplish, but thinking about how to get there makes me want to shut down and not do it because it's too much too fast. So the best thing I learned was to break things down into smaller steps because looking at one step at a time no longer seems overwhelming. Simplifying a task into steps makes the entire process manageable!"

"If you hate it, you won't stick to it. This is true for so many things in life, but especially when it comes to our health. For example, I always thought running was the best exercise. So I tried to get myself to do it even though I dreaded it. Trying to motivate myself, but deep down knowing I already lost the battle. What I do love is dancing, just rocking out in my room when getting ready in the morning! So signing up for an energetic dance class was my resolution to running, and I love it, you can't get me to miss a class! Dancing became my form of exercise and meditation. My advice, find something you actually enjoy and it'll be easier to stick to it!"

"Health can be attained through doing good. Part of taking care of and doing good for yourself is taking care of people around you and your loved ones. Offer them your kind heart, your listening ear, well-intentioned advice, feed them nutritious food, exercise together, connect with them - do for them out of love and care for their wellbeing. Also be good to yourself. Treat yourself with the highest care and respect for the body that fights for you and keeps you healthy every single day."

"Little changes over time make the biggest difference! Consistency is king! Every small decision you make toward better health counts. Every time you choose an apple over chips counts. Every time you choose to go on a walk over sitting watching tv counts. Every time you stand while doing your work over sitting down counts. Every time you read a book over scrolling on instagram counts. Small actions add up every single day until they become your lifestyle! No small action in the right direction is too small."
